The long s is in Fact not totally gone. In german we have a own letter which developed from this (long s)s combination. It is called "eszett" like s z and looks like this -> ß. Since last year we even have it as a capital letter (ẞ) but no word starts with it.

the 'eng' should be used in the Filipino alphabet. 'ng' (yes, an n and a g together) is an actual letter in Filipino, made to represent the same exact sound that an 'eng' makes. We just tend to use the sound in our words more often than it appears in English. Funny enough, we still also hold on to our Spanish friend, 'ñ', making the Filipino alphabet 28 letters long (well, 27 letters and a diphthong.)

We need to adapt, it's 2018. Time to replace ng with that ŋ.

I think we need another round of letter reform in modern English. We don't really need 'c' anymore - hard 'c' is the same sound as 'k' and soft 'c' is the same sound as 's'. This can be problematic in some words where the spelling might be the same but pronunciation is different denoting differing meaning. In 'celtic' for instance, 'keltic' represents the northern European culture and 'seltic' represents sports teams. 'c' is essentially useless. Also get rid of 'x', it's stupid.
